Fort Ord Property- We will continue to explore development as this property has the potential to greatly influence the type of community Del Rey Oaks becomes. It’s vital that we involve our residents in envisioning this future.
South Boundary Road Realignment- Due to the increasing use of South Boundary Road, I continue to support the project that is bringing the road northward in order to create a safer intersection with General Jim Moore Blvd. Pathways for bicyclists and pedestrians will also be included. I am working locally and regionally towards the completion of this project.
Airport- Increased communication with the airport staff and board of directors is essential for maintaining our city's police department, and understanding the airport's growth as our neighbor is one of my primary concerns. I support including community members as part of the airport's "Air Service, Marketing, and Community Relations" committee especially as the airport expansion moves forward.
Regional Water Issues- For both environmental and economic reasons, I supported the expansion of Pure Water Monterey, the recycled water project. I continue to support the public ownership of our water system, not ownership by a private company with corporate interests.
Protecting Open Spaces, Caring for our Habitats- 17 acres, the city-owned property across from The Oaks, should be protected from all development. Arroyo del Rey, the creek which runs through our city, must be cared for and the wetland habitat protected.
Safety, Equality, Opportunity- All residents deserve to be safe and acknowledged for their uniqueness. I'd like to see our city provide more opportunities for our youth, young families, and seniors.
Transparency- Communicating with the public is one of the most important aspects of our democracy. Providing information and listening to the residents has always been my priority. See all of my Council Reports here!
Importance of Del Rey Oaks- Although small, the decisions we make greatly influences the wider peninsula community. We need to continue to do what is best for Del Rey Oaks while working with our neighbors on solutions for larger issues, such as water and affordable housing.
