ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Brought the no-smoking ordinances to the council
  • Initiated raising the Pride Flag for the first time in Del Rey Oaks 
  • Brought the new core value of "Diversity and Inclusiveness" for City Council approval 
  • Helped run the campaign to defeat Measure B which is allowing FORTAG (Fort Ord Regional Trail and Greenway) to be built in Del Rey Oaks. This ADA safe pathway for pedestrians, runners, and bicyclists will safely connect our city and increase access to our parks and open spaces.
  • Fought for continued residential involvement in the Parks and Rec committee
Council Teamwork:
  • Maintained our budgets, remaining fiscally sound including building reserve funds
  • Maintained and supported our police force
  • Approved funds for capital projects throughout the city
  • Approved the design work and environmental review for the realignment of South Boundary Road
  • Approved the Exclusive Right to Negotiate with "City Ventures" for our Ft. Ord parcels
  • Approved the increased TOT (Transient Occupancy Tax) ballot measure for the Nov. election.
  • Finished the 5th Cycle Housing Element
  • Approved the first draft of the 6th Cycle Housing Element
  • Approved the permits for FORTAG
  • Passed the no-smoking in public spaces and in multi-unit housing ordinances as well as the Tobacco-Retail License ordinance
